Mohamed, currently serving as the Director of Social Affairs at the Ministry of Social Affairs of Djibouti, has built a distinguished career rooted in both education and social policy. He began his professional journey as a mathematics teacher, where his analytical mindset and problem-solving skills were honed. Later, he transitioned into public service, taking on the role of Head of Social Service Desks at the Ministry of Social Affairs. These desks serve as critical touchpoints for Djibouti’s most vulnerable households, managing the country’s social registry and processing grievances from households seeking social support.
In his capacity as both Head of Social Desks and Director of Social Affairs, Mohamed has faced a range of administrative challenges. A key area of focus has been improving the inclusion of households in the social protection system. He has been at the forefront of tackling issues related to fraud detection, prevention of duplicate registrations, and enhancing the efficiency of social services.
As the social protection system in Djibouti continues to evolve, Mohamed has shown keen interest in leveraging technology, particularly artificial intelligence, to automate administrative processes. His leadership is integral in driving efforts to modernize systems, ensuring that the most vulnerable populations are effectively reached while maintaining robust mechanisms to detect and prevent fraud.
Mohamed's participation in this workshop on linking social protection to artificial intelligence reflects his ongoing commitment to enhancing Djibouti's social service infrastructure through innovative and data-driven solutions.
